Lindsay completes comeback, beats Newmarket, 4-3

The Newmarket Hurricanes could not hold down the Lindsay Muskies, and Muskies erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 4-3 win.

Lindsay never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Muskies was down 3-1 after a power play goal by Newmarket's Cameron Nicoll at 15:43 in the second period. Lindsay tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Bryan Hignett at 12:05 in the third period. The Muskies netted the game winner at 19:44 in the third period on a goal by Hignett.

Hignett was all over the ice for Lindsay, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win.

The Hurricanes were unable to stop the Muskies from sending pucks towards the net, and Lindsay eventually piled up 51 shots on goal.

Lindsay also got points from Vince Herlihey, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Lindsay also got a goal from Peter Barral as well. More assists for Lindsay came via Austin Brown, who had two and Steven Savage, James Sterne, and Stuart Fierheller, who each chipped in one.

Newmarket forced the Muskies goalie Mathew Robson to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

The Hurricanes were helped by Ian Farrell, who finished with one goal and one assist. Farrell scored 12:43 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Newmarket. Brandon Francisco picked up the assist. Newmarket additionally got points from Francisco, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Newmarket received assists from Oshowy Jordan, Adam Smith, Trevor Petersen, and Jacob Piltzmaker, who contributed one a piece.

Robson rejected 31 shots on goal for Lindsay. The Muskies totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. For Lindsay, Bryce Sweeting was ejected from the game. Newmarket's Bo Bessette stopped 47 shots out of the 51 that he faced. The Hurricanes totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. For Newmarket, Ryan Kruss and Piltzmaker were ejected from the contest.
