Toronto boosted by Colitto's play in net, beats Newmarket 4-1

Nathan Colitto stood on his head and made 54 saves to lead the Toronto Junior Canadiens to a 4-1 victory over the Newmarket Hurricanes.

Anthony Repaci had two goals to lead Toronto to victory. Repaci found the back of the net 4:41 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Toronto and again while 19:20 into the third to make the score 4-1 Toronto.

The Junior Canadiens stifled Newmarket's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hurricanes were unable to stop Toronto from sending pucks towards the net, and the Junior Canadiens eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Toronto also got a goal from Will Lawrence as well. More assists for Toronto came via Aaron Thow, who had two and Kennedy Duguid and Cody Thompson, who each chipped in one.

Newmarket did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Hurricanes average 3.7 goals per game. Newmarket's offense rang up 55 shots on Toronto's net.

The Hurricanes were led by Justin Maiolino, who scored the team's only goal. Maiolino scored 3:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Newmarket. Brycin Morrison picked up the assist.

The Junior Canadiens incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Bo Bessette recorded 33 saves for Newmarket. The Hurricanes incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
