St. Michaels wins tough contest against Toronto Lakeshore, 4-3

The St. Michaels Buzzers gutted out a close 4-3 win against the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots.

St. Michaels gained the winning advantage on a goal by Ashur Elliot 16:07 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

CJ Shugart was all over the ice for the Buzzers, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Shugart scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels. St. Michaels had gotten the advantage when Toronto Lakeshore's Jacob Hayhurst was sent off for hooking. Elliot assisted on the tally. Shugart's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 St. Michaels with 57 seconds left in the first period. The Buzzers earned a power play opportunity when Matthew Marchese was put in the box for high sticking. Jake Evans picked up the assist.

The Patriots were unable to stop St. Michaels from sending pucks towards the net, and the Buzzers eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

St. Michaels additionally got points from Elliot, who also racked up one goal and one assist. St. Michaels also got a goal from Joseph Berton as well. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from David Italiano, who had two and Sam Hunter and Jake Clements, who contributed one a piece.

Toronto Lakeshore's offense rang up 34 shots on St. Michaels' net.

The Patriots were helped by Michael Prapavessis, who had one goal. Prapavessis scored 5:01 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Marcus Rose provided the assist. Andreas Tsogkas also scored for Toronto Lakeshore. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Lakeshore were Jack OHara, Niko Kovachis, Nathan Feric, and Doug Bonar, who each chipped in one.

Bo Bessette made 31 saves for the Buzzers on 34 shots. St. Michaels incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Mark Manolescu rejected 28 shots on goal for Toronto Lakeshore. The Patriots incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
