The North York Rangers survived a determined comeback attempt by the Toronto Junior Canadiens on the way to a 4-2 win. North York took a 4-0 lead during the second period, only to have Toronto storm back on a Daniel Harquail goal 10:53 into the third period to pull to two goals down. The Rangers got the win on the strength of a great game by John Carpino, who had one goal and three assists. Carpino scored 11:34 into the first period to make the score 3-0 North York. Fung Zachary provided the assist. North York excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Rangers' offense rang up 41 shots on the Junior Canadiens' net. North York also got points from Liam Kerins, who also tallied one goal and three assists. Valadao Adam also scored for North York. North York was unable to stop Toronto from sending pucks towards the net, and the Junior Canadiens eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Toronto additionally got points from Joseph Benvenuto, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto were Christopher Jarzabek, who had one. The Rangers' Gianluca Baggetta stopped 30 shots out of the 32 that he faced. North York incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Nathan Colitto made 37 saves for Toronto on 41 shots. The Junior Canadiens incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
