Peter's hat trick boosts Orangeville over Trenton, 4-2

The Trenton Golden Hawks could not stop the Orangeville Flyers' Angelpooulos Peter, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-2 win.

Peter notched his first tally 13:28 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:08 into the third and at 15:39 into the third.

Orangeville's penalty kill excelled, as the Flyers gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Orangeville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

Lucas Smilsky also scored for Orangeville. In addition, Orangeville received assists from Mathew Thompson, who had two.

Trenton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The Flyers were unable to stop the Golden Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Trenton eventually piled up 51 shots on goal.

The Golden Hawks were helped by Brady Wiffen, who finished with two goals. Wiffen scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 12:45 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Trenton had gained a power play chance when Wyatt Weppler was whistled for holding. Jason Zaleski picked up the assist. Wiffen's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 8:39 left in the second period. Tyler Mayea provided the assist. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Danny Liscio, who had two.

Taylor Welsh recorded 49 saves for Orangeville. The Golden Hawks' Denny Dubblestyne stopped 14 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Trenton incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
