Dubblestyne leads Trenton to shutout victory over PickeringSixteen Mile Creek 2 Sat, Sep 28, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Denny Dubblestyne was superb between the pipes for the Trenton Golden Hawks, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Pickering Panthers. Trenton pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 33 penalty minutes. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 10:32 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The Golden Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Pickering power plays. Trenton's defense was surprisingly good. The Golden Hawks allow 2.6 goals per game. Pickering was unable to stop Trenton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Golden Hawks eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Trenton was led by Tyler Sehovic, who had one goal and one assist. Sehovic scored 2:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Trenton. Andrew McCann provided the assist. Trenton additionally got points from Hunter Fargey, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Trenton also got a goal from Jason Zaleski as well. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Connor Stack, who had two and Danny Liscio and Brett Seldon, who contributed one a piece. The Panthers stifled the Golden Hawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Pickering's offense operated below it season average. The Panthers average 2.4 goals per game. Trenton's Dubblestyne stopped 25 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Golden Hawks registered zero goals on five power play opportunities. Trenton ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Seldon was ejected from the game. Steven Dombrosky made 41 saves for Pickering on 45 shots. The Panthers ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Pickering, Cam Palmer was ejected from the game.
