Milton rides Blacker to victory over Cobourg, 4-1Cobourg Community Centre Mon, Sep 23, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by Ben Blacker helped the Milton Icehawks defeat the Cobourg Cougars, 4-1. Milton was paced by Michael Andlauer, who tallied one goal. Andlauer scored on the power play 5:34 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Milton. An interference penalty on Matt Martin had put the Icehawks on the power play. TJ Fergus picked up the assist. Milton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Kane Elliot also scored for Milton. In addition, Milton received assists from Alex Riche, Tye Campbell, Shane Bennett, Ryan Burns, Josh Pace, and Daniel Poutscongas, who each chipped in one. Cobourg forced the Icehawks goalie Blacker to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. The Cougars were led by Connor Armour, who scored the team's only goal. Armour scored 4:00 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Milton. Liam Grande assisted on the tally. Milton's Blacker stopped 38 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Icehawks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Milton, Dante Cannatella was ejected from the game. Nathan Perry took the loss and made zero saves before being replaced by Mathieu Ouellet who made 14 saves. Cobourg incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
