Trenton beats St. Michaels 4-3 after comeback scare

The St. Michaels Buzzers tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Trenton Golden Hawks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

A goal by Jason Zaleski put Trenton up 4-2 in the third period, but St. Michaels pulled to within one on CJ Shugart's tally 19:31 into the third period.

The Golden Hawks got the win thanks to a great game by Zaleski, who had two goals and one assist. Zaleski scored the first of his two goals at 5:23 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Trenton. Brady Wiffen assisted on the tally. Zaleski's next tally made the score Trenton with 45 seconds left in the third period. Tyler Mayea picked up the assist.

Trenton also got points from Wiffen, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Trenton also got a goal from Brian Hurlimann as well. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Denny Dubblestyne, who had one and Zach de Concilys, who had three.

The Buzzers were helped by Bron Loiselle, who had one goal and one assist. Loiselle scored on the power play 14:26 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Trenton. St. Michaels earned a power play opportunity when Tyler Donaldson was put in the box for slashing. Shugart assisted on the tally. St. Michaels additionally got points from David Italiano, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Shugart, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for St. Michaels came via Matt Alvaro, who had one and Jake Evans, who had two.

Denny Dubblestyne made 17 saves for Trenton on 20 shots. The Golden Hawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. George Argiropoulos rejected 26 shots on goal for the Buzzers. St. Michaels incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
