Kingston rips Hamilton, 5-1Mountain Arena Mon, Sep 16, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kingston Voyageurs had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Hamilton Red Wings. Kingston was led by Maxim Pitre, who racked up one goal. Pitre scored 4:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kingston. Spencer Green provided the assist. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 2:04 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The Red Wings managed to stay out of the box for the most part, totaling eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time. Hamilton fell short of the 28.0 minutes average penalties per game. The Red Wings were held below their usual level of production. Hamilton puts an average of 4.4 pucks into the net per game. Kingston's Alex Brooks-Potts stopped 15 shots out of the 16 that he faced. The Voyageurs totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 3-for-8 on the power play. For Kingston, Brody Heleno was ejected from the game. Mark Sinclair rejected 40 shots on goal for the Red Wings. Hamilton registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For the Red Wings, Christiano DiGiacinto and Brandon Kolaski were ejected from the contest.
