Trenton boosted by Verrier's play in net, beats Whitby 3-1Iroquois - Rink#1 Sun, Sep 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Emerson Verrier had a standout game with 40 saves, and the Trenton Golden Hawks beat the Whitby Fury 3-1. Whitby's power play was ineffective against Trenton's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Golden Hawks were led by Nick Santoro, who registered one goal. Neal scored 4:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Whitby. Greg Milner assisted on the tally. The Golden Hawks registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Boyd Diclemente made 24 saves for the Fury on 27 shots. Whitby incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
