Toronto Lakeshore wins tough contest against St. Michaels, 4-3

The Toronto Lakeshore Patriots gutted out a close 4-3 win against the St. Michaels Buzzers.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Kevin Shier's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Marcus Rose was all over the ice for Toronto Lakeshore, as he had two goals in the win. Rose scored at 11:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Lakeshore and again while on the power play 15:16 into the third to make the score 3-3.

The Patriots put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow St. Michaels to score on any of its three power plays.

Toronto Lakeshore additionally got points from Shier, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Andreas Tsogkas also scored for Toronto Lakeshore. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Lakeshore were Michael Prapavessis, who had one and Nathan Feric, Doug Bonar, and Rory Bell, who contributed two a piece.

The Buzzers were helped by CJ Shugart, who registered one goal and one assist. Shugart scored 6:34 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Joseph Berton picked up the assist. St. Michaels also got points from Berton, who also tallied one goal and one assist. St. Michaels also got a goal from Ted Hunt as well. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Ian Edmondson, Marco Ferraro, and Matt Pepler, who each chipped in one.

Mark Manolescu rejected 27 shots on goal for Toronto Lakeshore. The Patriots incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Bo Bessette recorded 23 saves for St. Michaels. The Buzzers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
