Ottawa rolls over Kemptville, 4-1North Grenville Municipal 1 Fri, Mar 07, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Ottawa Senators were firing on all cylinders against the Kemptville 73s, and when the final buzzer sounded Senators emerged with a 4-1 win. Ottawa pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. The Senators were led by Luc Deschamps, who had one goal and one assist. Deschamps scored 9:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ottawa. Mike Martin assisted on the tally. Ottawa's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Kemptville power plays. Others who scored for Ottawa included Ryan Collins, Joe Shecter, and Justin Charbonneau, who scored one goal each. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Robert Michel, Joey Champigny, Matthew Dupont, and Ian Andriano, who contributed one a piece. Kemptville was held below its usual level of production. The 73s average 3.4 goals per game. Kemptville was led by Daniele Disipio, who scored the team's only goal. Disipio scored 5:56 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Ottawa. Hayden Hanson picked up the assist. Andriano rejected 21 shots on goal for the Senators. Ottawa registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. The 73s' Matt Couvrette stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Kemptville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
