Gill nets hat trick, leads Brockville to 9-3 win over Gloucester

Owen Gill lifted the Brockville Braves to a 9-3 victory with a hat trick against the Gloucester Rangers.

Gill's first goal came 1:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:14 into the first and at 2:19 into the third.

Brockville's offense rang up 53 shots on Gloucester's net. The Braves found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Brockville averages 3.5 goals per contest.

Brockville also got points from Eric Israel, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Jack Billings, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Jonathan Power, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Nathan Todd, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Brockville also got a goal from Sean King as well. More assists for Brockville came via Brett Van Stralen, who had one, Hayden Hulton, who had three, Ryan Cusin, who had four, and Cory Wilson and Ryan Walter, who each chipped in two.

The Rangers were helped by Matt Rosebrook, who finished with one goal. Rosebrook scored on the power play 15:11 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Brockville. Gloucester had taken the advantage when the Braves' Walter got sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Ryan Kuffner picked up the assist. Others who scored for Gloucester included Trevor Dulong and Max Veronneau, who scored one goal each. In addition, Gloucester received assists from Greg Jansz, who had two and Clark Veenstra and Lucas Zwaagstra, who each chipped in one.

Brockville's Andrew Pikul stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Braves incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Doug Johnston made 44 saves for the Rangers on 53 shots. Gloucester incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
