Nepean survives Kemptville comeback, wins 5-4Nepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Sun, Mar 02, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kemptville 73s tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Nepean Raiders would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4. Nepean made the score 5-3 on a goal by Felix Page at 17:19 in the second period, and Kemptville got as close as 5-4 when Alex Row scored 5:51 into the third period. The Raiders got the win with help from a great game by Page, who had two goals and one assist. Page scored the first of his two goals at 13:08 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Nepean. Francesco Iannantuono assisted on the tally. Page's next tally made the score Nepean with 2:41 left in the second period. Mac MacSorley picked up the assist. Nepean kept the 73s' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Tugnutt made 28 saves on 33 shots. Nepean additionally got points from Mitchell Herlihey, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Max Robitaille, who also registered one goal and one assist, and MacSorley, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Jody Sullivan, Tanner Williams, Kris Johnson, and Ryan Mulder, who contributed one each. Kemptville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Nepean power plays. The 73s' offense rang up 36 shots on the Raiders' net. Kemptville also got points from Daniele Disipio, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kemptville also had goals scored by Ben St Marseille and Dean Galasso, who scored one goal each. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Erik Brown, who had two and Jonathon Masters, Jesse Blais, Hayden Hanson, and Justin Haasbeek, who each chipped in one. Mulder rejected 32 shots on goal for Nepean. The Raiders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kemptville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The 73s ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Matt Martin was ejected from the game.
