Carleton Place falls to Pembroke in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Pembroke Lumber Kings' Stephan Beauvais scored 1:13 into overtime to beat the Carleton Place Canadians, 3-2 (OT).

Pembroke overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Lumber Kings fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Carleton Place's Kelly Summers at 4:58 in the first period. Pembroke tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Keegan Harper at 8:42 in the third period.

The Lumber Kings were led by Beauvais, who tallied one goal and one assist.

The Canadians were unable to stop Pembroke from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lumber Kings eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Pembroke also got a goal from Dylan Staples as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Mark Petaccio, who had two and Felix Chamberland, Lucas Gonu, and Jordan Larson, who each chipped in one.

Carleton Place could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Canadians put an average of 4.7 pucks into the net per game.

Anthony Latina also scored for Carleton Place. More assists for Carleton Place came via Larry Smith, Andy Sturtz, and Brett DAndrea, who contributed one a piece.

Pembroke's Darren Smith stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Lumber Kings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Guillaume Therien rejected 28 shots on goal for Carleton Place. The Canadians totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Carleton Place ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Elias Ghantous was ejected from the game.
