Smiths Falls survives Kemptville comeback, wins 4-3Smiths Falls Memorial Centre Fri, Feb 28, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Smiths Falls Bears survived a determined comeback attempt by the Kemptville 73s on the way to a 4-3 win. A goal by Chris King put Smiths Falls up 3-0 in the second period, but Kemptville pulled to within one on Hayden Hanson's tally 5:34 into the third period. Stefano Momesso had a great game for the Bears, netting two goals. Momesso's tallies came on the power play at 6:44 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Smiths Falls and 7:51 into the third to make the score 4-2 Smiths Falls. Smiths Falls kept the 73s' goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Couvrette made 32 saves on 36 shots. Taylor Henry also scored for Smiths Falls. In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Michael Buonincontri, Brett Costello, and Zachary Senyshyn, who each chipped in one and Chris MacMillan and Victor Beaulac, who contributed two each. Kemptville additionally got points from Dean Galasso, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Kemptville also got a goal from Cody Hendsbee as well. More assists for Kemptville came via Jesse Blais, who had one and Quinn Carroll, who had two. Michael Pinios made 27 saves for the Bears on 30 shots. Smiths Falls incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Kemptville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
