Brockville uses shootout to best Nepean, 3-2 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Brockville Braves defeated the Nepean Raiders in a shootout 3-2 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for 12 attempts between the teams. Nepean's shootout goal was scored by Jesse Ferras. Brockville also got a shootout goal from Ryan Cusin.

The Braves came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Brockville fell behind 2-1 after a goal by the Raiders' Keenan Hodgson at 19:34 in the second period. The Braves knotted things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Cory Wilson at 14:31 in the third period.

Brockville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Nepean was unable to stop the Braves from sending pucks towards the net, and Brockville eventually piled up 53 shots on goal.

The Braves were led by Cusin, who tallied one goal and one assist. Cusin scored 13:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. Jonathan Power picked up the assist. More assists for Brockville came via Nathan Todd, who had one.

Nepean also got a goal from Felix Page as well. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Francesco Iannantuono, Mitchell Herlihey, and Mac MacSorley, who contributed one a piece.

Andrew Pikul rejected 20 shots on goal for Brockville. The Braves incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Ryan Mulder made 50 saves for the Raiders on 52 shots. Nepean incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
