Robitaille's goals lift Nepean to 3-0 victory over KanataNepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Sun, Feb 23, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Nepean Raiders relied on the scoring touch of Max Robitaille, who netted two goals, to beat the Kanata Stallions, 3-0. Robitaille scored on the power play at 17:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean and again while on the power play 5:14 into the third to make the score 2-0 Nepean.Kanata's power play was ineffective against Nepean's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Raiders stifled the Stallions' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Nepean kept Kanata's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cole Skinner made 38 saves on 41 shots. Josh Zizek also scored for Nepean. In addition, Nepean received assists from Jesse Ferras, who had two and Felix Page, Tanner Williams, Mitchell Herlihey, and Brett Magnus, who contributed one a piece. The Stallions were held below their usual level of production. Kanata averages 3.1 goals per game. Brett Magnus made 22 saves for the Raiders on 22 shots. Nepean incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Stallions incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
