Pembroke wins tough contest against Ottawa, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Pembroke Lumber Kings escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Mark Petaccio at 17:07 of the third period.

Pembroke was led by Petaccio, who had one goal.

Pembroke also got points from Keegan Harper, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Pembroke also had goals scored by Felix Chamberland and Lucas Gonu, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Patrice Wren, Jordan Larson, and Stephan Beauvais, who contributed one a piece and Fraser Turner and Kyle Shaw, who each chipped in two.

Ottawa stifled the Lumber Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Senators could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Ottawa puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. Pembroke was unable to stop the Senators from sending pucks towards the net, and Ottawa eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

The Senators were helped by Michael Evelyn, who registered one goal. Evelyn scored 3:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa. Ottawa also got a goal from Deric Boudreau as well. More assists for Ottawa came via Ryan Collins and Robert Michel, who contributed one a piece.

Darren Smith recorded 30 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Alexandre Savard-Belanger made 25 saves for Ottawa on 28 shots. The Senators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
