Gloucester blows out xKemptville, 7-4Earl Armstrong Arena Fri, Feb 21, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Gloucester Rangers were firing on all cylinders against the xKemptville 73s, and when the final buzzer sounded Rangers emerged with a 7-4 win. With four goals and two assists between them, Matt Foget and Greg Jansz teamed up to power Gloucester's offense. Foget racked up two goals and one assist and Jansz also notched two goals and one assist. xKemptville's seven penalties came back to haunt it, as the 73s let up four goals while on the penalty kill. The Rangers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five xKemptville power plays. xKemptville was unable to stop Gloucester from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rangers eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Gloucester surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Rangers average 3.5 goals per game. Gloucester additionally got points from Nicolas Beaudin, who also registered one goal and one assist, Ryan Kuffner, who also had one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Max Veronneau, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Jansz, who also finished with two goals and one assist. More assists for Gloucester came via Adam Beveridge, who had two and Tristan Whynot, Matt Rosebrook, and Stevie Ray Adams, who contributed one a piece. The 73s' offense rang up 42 shots on Gloucester's net. xKemptville was led by Quinn Wichers, who grabbed two goals. Wichers scored the first of his two goals at 4:39 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jesse Blais picked up the assist. Wichers' next tally made the score 5-3 Gloucester with 3:40 left in the second period. Daniele Disipio provided the assist. Others who scored for xKemptville included Brandon Seatter and Alex Row, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for xKemptville were Cody Hendsbee and Erik Brown, who each chipped in one. Doug Johnston recorded 38 saves for the Rangers. Gloucester incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The 73s' Matt Couvrette stopped 26 shots out of the 33 that he faced. xKemptville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
