Brockville survives Kanata comeback, wins 4-2

The Kanata Stallions tried their best to erase a four-goal deficit, but the Brockville Braves would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2.

Brockville took a 4-0 lead during the third period, only to have Kanata storm back on a Braedan Moffatt goal 19:07 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Nathan Todd was all over the ice for the Braves, as he finished with two goals in the win. Todd's tallies came at 2:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville and 3:06 into the third to make the score 3-0 Brockville.

Brockville also got points from Jack Billings, who also had one goal and one assist and Sean King, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Jonathan Power, who had one and Cory Wilson and Ryan Cusin, who each chipped in two.

The Stallions excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Devin Fullum also scored for Kanata. In addition, Kanata received assists from Jean-Philippe Langlois, Ian Johnson, Ben Fanjoy, and David Higgs, who contributed one a piece.

Andrew Pikul made 26 saves for Brockville on 28 shots. The Braves ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. Brockville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Walter was ejected from the game. Cole Skinner recorded 25 saves for Kanata. The Stallions incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
