Cornwall falls to Kemptville in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Kemptville 73s' Dylan Giberson scored 1:21 into overtime to beat the Cornwall Colts, 5-4 (OT).

Kemptville came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The 73s was down 4-2 after a goal by Cornwall's Dean Derouchie at 19 seconds in the third period. Kemptville knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Erik Brown at 16:20 in the third period.

Justin Haasbeek was all over the ice for the 73s, as he registered two goals in the win. Haasbeek scored at 3:16 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 6:11 into the second to make the score 2-2.

Kemptville kept the Colts' goalie busy throughout the game, and Anthony Kuhnreich made 30 saves on 35 shots.

Kemptville additionally got points from Doug Harvey, who also had one goal and one assist and Giberson, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Kemptville were Jonathon Masters, Cody Hendsbee, Dean Galasso, Jesse Blais, and Alex Row, who contributed one a piece.

The 73s were unable to stop Cornwall from sending pucks towards the net, and the Colts eventually piled up 46 shots on goal.

Cornwall was helped by Ryan Patulli, who racked up one goal. Patulli scored on the power play 5:18 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. The Colts had taken the advantage when Kemptville's Matt Martin got sent off for cross checking. Cal Hofford picked up the assist. Cornwall also got points from Matthew Cruickshank, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Pierre Ouellette also scored for Cornwall. More assists for Cornwall came via Grant Cooper, Jay DAmour, Tanner Spink, Marly Quince, Lawson MacDougall, and Kenny Nelson, who each chipped in one.

Jacob Tugnutt recorded 42 saves for the 73s. Kemptville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Cornwall incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
