Justin Charbonneau finished with one point to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 4-0 victory over the Gloucester Rangers. Ottawa put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Gloucester to score on any of its three power plays. The Senators was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Ottawa allows 3.0 goals per game. Ottawa additionally got points from Deric Boudreau, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Matthew Dupont, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Shawn Lynch also scored for Ottawa. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Ryan Collins, Eric Clitsome, Luc Deschamps, and Joey Champigny, who each chipped in one. The Rangers were held below their usual level of production. Gloucester puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game. Alexandre Savard-Belanger rejected 16 shots on goal for the Senators. Ottawa incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Rangers' Doug Johnston stopped 25 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Gloucester incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
