xKemptville outlasts xNepean, 4-3

The xKemptville 73s and the xNepean Raiders were evenly matched throughout their contest, but xKemptville made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

The 73s gained the winning advantage on a goal by Erik Brown 5:03 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Brown had two goals to lead xKemptville to victory.

xNepean was unable to stop the 73s from sending pucks towards the net, and xKemptville eventually piled up 54 shots on goal.

xKemptville also had goals scored by Dean Galasso and Daniele Disipio, who each put in one. More assists for xKemptville came via Doug Harvey, who had two and Matt Martin, Cody Hendsbee, Brandon Seatter, Jesse Blais, Matt Tugnutt, and Alex Row, who each chipped in one.

The Raiders' offense rang up 42 shots on the 73s' net.

xNepean was helped by Mitchell Herlihey, who registered two goals. Herlihey scored the first of his two goals at 16:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 xNepean. Christopher Smith assisted on the tally. Herlihey's next tally made the score 2-2 with 9:12 left in the second period. The Raiders had gotten the advantage when xKemptville's Hendsbee was sent off for high sticking. Keenan Hodgson picked up the assist. xNepean additionally got points from Hodgson, who also tallied one goal and two assists. In addition, xNepean received assists from Shane Riddell, who had two.

The 73s' Matt Couvrette stopped 39 shots out of the 42 that he faced. xKemptville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Ryan Mulder made 50 saves for xNepean on 54 shots. The Raiders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
