Cornwall rides Edwardson to victory over Cumberland, 2-1Ed Lumley Arena Thu, Feb 13, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Cornwall Colts relied on the sparkling performance of James Edwardson in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Cumberland Grads. Cornwall was sparked by Lawson MacDougall, who finished with one goal. MacDougall scored 18:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. The Colts' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Cumberland power plays. Cumberland was unable to stop Cornwall from sending pucks towards the net, and the Colts eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Cornwall also got a goal from Jay DAmour as well. Other players who recorded assists for Cornwall were Billy Ulrick and Kevin Hope, who each chipped in one. The Grads were led by Brett Faber, who scored the team's only goal. Faber scored 10:05 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Travis Douglas provided the assist. Edwardson recorded 27 saves for Cornwall. The Colts incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cumberland's Reilly Turner stopped 33 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Grads incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
