Savard-Belanger leads Ottawa to shutout victory over Hawkesbury

Alexandre Savard-Belanger was superb between the pipes for the Ottawa Senators, as he did not allow a goal in a 7-0 victory over the Hawkesbury Hawks.

Ottawa was sparked by Ryan Collins, who registered one goal. Collins scored 19 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa. Zackary Rheaume provided the assist.

The Senators kept Hawkesbury's goalie busy throughout the game, and Gunner Rivers made 30 saves on 37 shots. Ottawa's goal total was higher than its season average. The Senators average 4.1 goals per game.

Ottawa also got points from Justin Charbonneau, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Luc Deschamps, who also had one goal and one assist, and Joey Champigny, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Ottawa also had goals scored by Yannick Crete, Geoffrey Lawson, and Matthew Dupont, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Joe Shecter and Michael Evelyn, who contributed one a piece and Robert Michel and Deric Boudreau, who each chipped in two.

The Hawks' offense operated below they season average. Hawkesbury averages 2.3 goals per game.
