Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Hawkesbury Hawks defeated the Cumberland Grads in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

Hawkesbury was sparked by Joshua Renaud, who racked up one goal. Renaud scored 13:01 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Hawkesbury.

The Hawks were paced by Renaud, who registered one goal.

Zach Car also scored for Hawkesbury.

Cumberland excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

The Grads were helped by Riley Hennigar, who had two goals. Hennigar scored the first of his two goals at 1:20 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Mark Golberg assisted on the tally. Hennigar's next tally made the score 2-2 with 19 seconds left in the third period. David Bennett picked up the assist. More assists for Cumberland came via Neil Penner, who had one.
