Behind a great game by Ryan Cusin, who had two goals, the Brockville Braves defeated the Kemptville 73s, 4-1. Cusin found the back of the net 5:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville and again while 8:43 into the first to make the score 2-1 Brockville.Brockville was led by goalie Andrew Pikul, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. Pikul managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.06 prior to the game. The Braves excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Brockville also got points from Nathan Todd, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Sean King, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Brockville received assists from Jonathan Power and Andrew Peski, who contributed two a piece. Kemptville's offense operated below it season average. The 73s average 3.2 goals per game. Kemptville's offense rang up 32 shots on Brockville's net. The 73s were led by Justin Haasbeek, who scored the team's only goal. Haasbeek scored 6:42 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Aaron Hickie assisted on the tally. The Braves incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Matt Couvrette recorded 23 saves for Kemptville. The 73s incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
