The Pembroke Lumber Kings had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over the Hawkesbury Hawks.

Pembroke was led by Steven Johnston, who racked up one goal and one assist. Johnston scored 15:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke. Kyle Shaw assisted on the tally.

The Lumber Kings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Hawkesbury was unable to stop Pembroke from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lumber Kings eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Pembroke additionally got points from Colin Kruse, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Dylan Staples, who also had one goal and one assist. Pembroke also got a goal from Lucas Gonu as well. More assists for Pembroke came via Patrice Wren, who had two and Mark Petaccio, Felix Chamberland, and Jake Staples, who each chipped in one.

The Hawks were held below their usual level of production. Hawkesbury averages 2.4 goals per game.

Darren Smith recorded 24 saves for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Gunner Rivers made 32 saves for the Hawks on 37 shots. Hawkesbury incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
