The Hawkesbury Hawks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Cornwall Colts on the way to a 3-2 win.

Hawkesbury took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have Cornwall storm back on a Kevin Hope goal 17:01 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 14:10 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Hawks were helped by Yanik Laliberte, who finished with one goal. Laliberte scored short handed 14:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hawkesbury. Hawkesbury played down a man on Andrew Reis's interference. Daniel Brickley provided the assist. Hawkesbury also had goals scored by Antonio Roumeliotis and Joshua Renaud, who scored one goal each. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Jonathan Cyr, Carl Faucher, Jake Roeper, Nicholas Legault, and Francois Lemelin, who contributed one a piece.

The Colts' offense rang up 35 shots on the Hawks' net.

Cornwall also got a goal from Grant Cooper as well. Other players who recorded assists for Cornwall were Marly Quince and Pierre Ouellette, who each chipped in one.

Gunner Rivers made 33 saves for Hawkesbury on 35 shots. The Hawks totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For Hawkesbury, Jonathan Tecce was ejected from the game. James Edwardson recorded 19 saves for Cornwall. The Colts totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Cornwall ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Billy Ulrick was ejected from the game.
