Cornwall falls to Ottawa in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Ryan Collins gave the Ottawa Senators a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Cornwall Colts when he scored 35 seconds into the extra period.

Ottawa got the win with help from a great game by Collins, who had two goals and one assist. Collins scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 13:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa. The Senators had gotten the advantage when Cornwall's Marly Quince was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Zac Tierney picked up the assist. Collins' next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Ottawa with 19:25 left in overtime. Tierney provided the assist.

Ottawa's penalty kill excelled, as the Senators gave up one goal despite allowing 10 power plays.

Ottawa was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 22 penalty minutes.

Ottawa also got points from Matthew Dupont, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Robert Michel and Joey Champigny, who each chipped in one.

The Colts kept the Senators' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alexandre Savard-Belanger made 29 saves on 31 shots.

Cornwall was led by Kevin Hope, who finished with one goal and one assist. Hope scored 14:29 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Quince picked up the assist. Cornwall also got a goal from Matthew Cruickshank as well. More assists for Cornwall came via Ryan Patulli, who had one.

Ottawa registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Anthony Kuhnreich made 24 saves for the Colts on 27 shots. Cornwall incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
