Kemptville holds on for 3-2 win against Cornwall

The Kemptville 73s survived a determined comeback attempt by the Cornwall Colts on the way to a 3-2 win.

Kemptville made the score 3-1 on a goal by Erik Brown at 16:04 in the second period, and Cornwall got as close as 3-2 when Cal Hofford scored 12:39 into the third period.

The 73s were led by Brown, who tallied one goal.

Kemptville additionally got points from Dean Galasso, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Matt Tugnutt, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Kemptville came via Cody Hendsbee, who had one and Daniele Disipio, who had two.

Kemptville was unable to stop the Colts from sending pucks towards the net, and Cornwall eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

The Colts were helped by Billy Ulrick, who registered one goal. Ulrick scored on the power play 19:23 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Cornwall earned a power play opportunity when Ben St Marseille was put in the box for slashing. Ross Craig picked up the assist. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Parker Krol, Pierre Ouellette, and Kevin Hope, who contributed one a piece.

Matt Couvrette rejected 40 shots on goal for the 73s. Kemptville incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Colts' Liam Lascelle stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Cornwall incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
