Gloucester downs Brockville in overtime, 5-4 (OT)Brockville Memorial Centre Fri, Jan 10, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Gloucester Rangers pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Brockville Braves on a clutch goal by Connor McLaren. Gloucester came back from a four-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Rangers was down 4-0 after a goal by Brockville's Sean King at 14:00 in the second period. Gloucester knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Ryan Kuffner at 15:51 in the third period. The Rangers were led by McLaren, who racked up one goal. McLaren scored on the power play 23 seconds into overtime to make the score 5-4 Gloucester. Greg Jansz assisted on the tally. Gloucester forced the Braves goalie David Poirier to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Gloucester also got points from Nicolas Beaudin, who also had one goal and one assist and Matt Rosebrook, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Matt Foget also scored for Gloucester. In addition, Gloucester received assists from Clark Veenstra, who had two and T Beveridge, Trevor Dulong, and Maximian Veronneau, who contributed one a piece. Brockville was helped by Ryan Cusin, who registered one goal and one assist. Cusin scored 10:38 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Brockville. Jonathan Power picked up the assist. Brockville additionally got points from Power, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Brockville came via David Lappin, who had two and Jack Billings, Brett Garvey, and Ryan Walter, who each chipped in one. The Rangers took out Nate Skidmore after he had made five saves and installed Doug Johnston in goal, where he finished with 13 saves and the win. Gloucester incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Braves' Poirier stopped 27 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Brockville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
