Gloucester completes comeback, beats Ottawa, 5-4

The Gloucester Rangers rallied from two goals down to secure a 5-4 win over the Ottawa Senators.

Gloucester let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Rangers took a 4-3 advantage on a goal by Adam Beveridge at 5:46 in the third period. Gloucester found itself down 2-0 after Ottawa's Justin Charbonneau put the puck home at 5:49 in the first period. After knotting things up at 4-4 on a goal by Ryan Collins at 12:13 in the third, the Rangers got the game-winner from Greg Jansz at 15:35 in the third period.

Gloucester's penalty kill excelled, as the Rangers gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Gloucester stifled the Senators' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Gloucester additionally got points from Beveridge, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Gloucester also had goals scored by Matt Rosebrook, Ryan Kuffner, and Matt Foget, who each put in one. In addition, Gloucester received assists from Chris Morgan, Max Veronneau, Vincent Guimond, and Matthieu Desautels, who each chipped in one and Trevor Dulong and Mitch Allen, who contributed two a piece.

Ottawa excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

The Senators were helped by Eric Clitsome, who registered one goal. Clitsome scored 4:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa. Ottawa also got points from Yannick Crete, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Ottawa came via Robert Michel, Mike Martin, Joey Champigny, Deric Boudreau, and Nicholas Ford, who each chipped in one.

Nate Skidmore made 22 saves for the Rangers on 26 shots. Gloucester incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Ottawa's starting goalie, Ian Andriano, made 22 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Alexandre Savard-Belanger, who stopped zero shots. The Senators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
