The Carleton Place Canadians tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Hawkesbury Hawks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1. A goal by Yanik Laliberte put Hawkesbury up 2-0 in the third period, but Carleton Place pulled to within one on Adam Lloyd's tally 16:35 into the third period. The Hawks' Gunner Rivers was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past him. Rivers managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 4.06 prior to the game. Hawkesbury excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Zach Car also scored for Hawkesbury. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Carl Faucher, who had two and Daniel Brickley and Curtis Scale, who each chipped in one.
