Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Kemptville 73s defeated the Cumberland Grads in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO). The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout.Kemptville overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The 73s trailed 3-0 after a goal by Cumberland's David Bennett at 5:43 in the second period. Kemptville tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Brandon Seatter at 18:26 in the third period. The 73s forced the Grads' goalies to work between the pipes, finishing with 43 shots and forcing 39 saves. Kevin Gollmer made 23 stops and Reilly Turner made 16. Kemptville stifled Cumberland's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 73s were helped by Alex Row, who tallied one goal. Row scored 7:05 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Cumberland. C Quinn picked up the assist. Kemptville additionally got points from Seatter, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Erik Brown also scored for Kemptville. More assists for Kemptville came via Cody Hendsbee, Dean Galasso, Olivier Chabot, and Brandon Cole, who contributed one a piece. The Grads got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Cumberland was helped by Bobby Williams, who grabbed one goal. Williams scored 4:14 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Cumberland. Matthew Dupont assisted on the tally.
