Parker Krol finished with one point to lead the Cornwall Colts to a 3-1 victory over the Hawkesbury Hawks. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 9:36 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Cornwall's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Colts finished with 20 penalty minutes. Cornwall also had goals scored by Neil Woolfrey and Kevin Hope, who each put in one. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Cal Hofford, Dean Derouchie, Zach Renfrew, Lawson MacDougall, and Ryan Patulli, who each chipped in one. Hawkesbury excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Hawks were led by Jonathan Cyr, who scored the team's only goal. Cyr scored on the power play 19:17 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A tripping penalty on Tanner Spink had put Hawkesbury on the power play. Damien Charette provided the assist. Jordan Piccolino recorded 22 saves for Cornwall. For the Colts, Woolfrey and Renfrew were ejected from the contest. Gunner Rivers made 18 saves for the Hawks on 21 shots. Hawkesbury totaled 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors and two majors and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Team's Charette and Andrew Reis were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. |
