xKemptville completes comeback, beats xCornwall, 5-3

The xKemptville 73s climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the xCornwall Colts, 5-3.

xKemptville never led in the game until netting the game winner. The 73s trailed 3-0 after a goal by xCornwall's Billy Ulrick at 14:41 in the second period. xKemptville knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Erik Brown at 7:09 in the third period. The 73s got the game winner at 14:56 in the third period on a goal by Brown.

xKemptville got the win with help from a great game by Brown, who had two goals and one assist.

The 73s' offense rang up 31 shots on the Colts' net.

xKemptville additionally got points from Dean Galasso, who also registered two goals and one assist and Quinn Carroll, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for xKemptville came via Brandon Seatter, who had one, Cody Hendsbee, who had two, and Matt Tugnutt, who had three.

xCornwall avoided man-down situations well, racking up one major for five minutes in penalty time. The Colts ended up below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. xCornwall forced xKemptville goalie Matt Couvrette to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

The Colts were helped by Chase Pearson, who grabbed one goal. Pearson scored on the power play 11:58 into the second period to make the score 2-0 xCornwall. xCornwall had gotten the advantage when the 73s' Alex Row was sent off for tripping. Kevin Hope provided the assist. xCornwall also got points from Ulrick, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tanner Spink also scored for xCornwall. In addition, xCornwall received assists from Cal Hofford, who had two and Pierre Ouellette and Ryan Patulli, who contributed one a piece.

xKemptville's Couvrette stopped 37 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The 73s incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Jordan Piccolino recorded 26 saves for the Colts. xCornwall registered one goal on two power play opportunities. For the Colts, Marly Quince was ejected from the game.
