Huge game by Gadoury boosts Nepean over Kanata, 5-2Nepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Sun, Dec 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Philippe Gadoury was all over the ice for the Nepean Raiders, as he tallied one goal and three assists in Nepean's 5-2 win over the Kanata Stallions. Gadoury scored 2:44 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Nepean. Brandon Watt assisted on the tally. Gadoury dished an assist on Jody Sullivan's goal that made the score 1-1 at 6:21 into the first period. He then added assists on Sullivan's goal at 19:00 into the first and on Watt's goal at 8:49 into the third.The Raiders made Stallions' netminders to work between the pipes, totaling 32 shots and forcing 27 saves. Gunner Rivers made eight stops and Cole Skinner made 19. Nepean's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Kanata power plays. Nepean also got points from Sullivan, who also tallied two goals and one assist and Watt, who also registered one goal and three assists. Steven Johnston also scored for Nepean. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were David Hopfer, Francesco Iannantuono, and Kris Johnson, who contributed one a piece. Kanata forced the Raiders goalie Brett Magnus to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The Stallions were helped by Devin Fullum, who finished with one goal. Fullum scored 5:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kanata. Taylor Egan picked up the assist. Kanata also got a goal from Ben Fanjoy as well. More assists for Kanata came via Jason Brochu and Braedan Moffatt, who each chipped in one. Magnus recorded 29 saves for Nepean. The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kanata incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
