Brown leads Kemptville over Brockville, 6-4

Erik Brown was all over the ice for the Kemptville 73s, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Kemptville's 6-4 win over the Brockville Braves.

Brown's tallies came on the power play at 5:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kemptville and on the power play 4:33 into the third to make the score 5-3 Kemptville.

The 73s pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 14 penalty minutes.

Kemptville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Brockville to score on any of its six power plays. The 73s forced the Braves goalie Andrew Pikul to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. Kemptville bested its season scoring average. The 73s have scored at the pace of 3.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

Kemptville additionally got points from Dean Galasso, who also registered one goal and one assist and Jesse Blais, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Olivier Chabot also scored for Kemptville. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Cody Hendsbee, who had three and Matt Martin, C Quinn, Alex Row, and Dylan Giberson, who each chipped in one.

Kemptville was unable to stop Brockville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Braves eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Brockville was led by Ryan Cusin, who finished with one goal and one assist. Cusin scored 9:50 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Kemptville. Brockville also got points from Jonathan Power, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Nathan Todd, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brockville also got a goal from Hayden Hulton as well. More assists for Brockville came via Anthony Walsh, Sean King, and Andrew Jarvis, who contributed one a piece.

Matt Couvrette made 35 saves for the 73s on 39 shots. Kemptville registered three goals on six power play opportunities. Pikul recorded 38 saves for the Braves. Brockville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For the Braves, Connor Bebb was ejected from the game.
