xKemptville falls to yCarleton Place in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The yCarleton Place Canadians' Kelly Summers scored 1:06 into overtime to beat the xKemptville 73s, 4-3 (OT).

yCarleton Place got the win behind a great game by Summers, who had two goals and one assist. Summers scored the first of his two goals at 3:14 into the second period to make the score 2-0 yCarleton Place. Andy Sturtz assisted on the tally. Summers' next tally made the score 4-3 yCarleton Place with 18:54 left in overtime. Brett DAndrea picked up the assist.

The Canadians' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three xKemptville power plays. yCarleton Place's offense rang up 38 shots on xKemptville's net. The Canadians' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

yCarleton Place also got points from DAndrea, who also had two goals and one assist. More assists for yCarleton Place came via Jim Roll, Tyson Stewart, and Andrew Dodson, who each chipped in one.

The 73s forced yCarleton Place goalie Justin Laforest to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

xKemptville was helped by Dylan Giberson, who racked up one goal and one assist. Giberson scored 18:29 into the second period to make the score 3-2 yCarleton Place. Ben St Marseille assisted on the tally. xKemptville additionally got points from Matt Tugnutt, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Erik Brown also scored for xKemptville. In addition, xKemptville received assists from Jonathon Masters and Brandon Seatter, who contributed one a piece.

Laforest rejected 36 shots on goal for the Canadians. yCarleton Place incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Matt Couvrette made 34 saves for the 73s on 38 shots. xKemptville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The 73s ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jesse Blais was ejected from the game.
