Ottawa blows out Kemptville, 7-2North Grenville Municipal 1 Sun, Dec 01, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Ottawa Senators had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over the Kemptville 73s. Ottawa pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 24 penalty minutes. The Senators excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Ottawa found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Senators average 4.1 goals per game. Ottawa was helped by Hunter Racine, who registered two goals. Racine scored the first of his two goals at 7:14 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ottawa. Shawn Lynch provided the assist. Racine's next tally made the score 5-2 Ottawa with 3:37 left in the second period. Deric Boudreau assisted on the tally. Ottawa additionally got points from Lynch, who also registered one goal and one assist, Boudreau, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Michael Evelyn, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Ottawa also had goals scored by Luc Deschamps and Joey Champigny, who each put in one. More assists for Ottawa came via Ryan Collins, who had two and Zachary Rheaume, Joe Shecter, Justin Charbonneau, Eric Clitsome, Thomas Crevier, Jason Wilson, and Nicholas Ford, who each chipped in one. Kemptville kept the Senators' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alexandre Savard-Belanger made 34 saves on 36 shots. The 73s were led by Brandon Seatter, who had one goal and one assist. Seatter scored 10:43 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Ottawa. Matt Tugnutt picked up the assist. David Higgs also scored for Kemptville. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Dylan Giberson and Nicholas Hodgins, who contributed one a piece. Ottawa registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Matt Couvrette took the loss and made nine saves before being replaced by Hodgins who made 13 saves. Kemptville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
