Carleton Place downs Kanata, 5-2Kanata Recreational Complex Tue, Nov 26, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Andy Sturtz finished with one point to lead the Carleton Place Canadians to a 5-2 victory over the Kanata Stallions. Carleton Place kept Kanata's goalie busy throughout the game, and Gunner Rivers made 34 saves on 39 shots. Carleton Place also got points from Stephen Bayliss, who also racked up two goals and one assist and Kelly Summers, who also had one goal and one assist. Vinny Post also scored for Carleton Place. More assists for Carleton Place came via Adam Lloyd, Stephen Cooney, Brett DAndrea, and Craig Pefley, who contributed one a piece and Larry Smith and Evan Peterson, who each chipped in two. The Stallions were helped by Devin Fullum, who registered one goal. Fullum scored on the power play 18:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kanata. An interference penalty on Smith had put Kanata on the power play. Kris Myllari picked up the assist. Kanata also got a goal from Daniele Disipio as well. In addition, Kanata received assists from Jason Brochu and Connor Cobbold, who contributed one a piece. Guillaume Therien rejected 19 shots on goal for the Canadians. Carleton Place incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Stallions incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
