Yannick Crete lifted the Smiths Falls Bears to an 8-4 victory with a hat trick against the Gloucester Rangers.

Crete notched his first tally 5:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:41 into the first and at 15:58 into the third.

Gloucester's five penalties came back to haunt it, as the Rangers let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

Smiths Falls forced Gloucester's goalies to work between the pipes, ripping 39 shots and forcing 31 saves. Nate Skidmore made eight stops and Doug Johnston made 23. The Bears found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Smiths Falls has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Smiths Falls additionally got points from Alek Deblois, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Brett Costello, who also grabbed one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, and Nic Marchand, who also registered one goal and three assists.
