In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Nepean Raiders escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Kemptville 73s. Nepean gained the winning advantage on a goal by Mitchell Herlihey 8:39 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. Kemptville's power play was ineffective against the Raiders' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Nepean was led by Keenan Hodgson, who racked up two goals. Hodgson scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:40 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Raiders earned a power play opportunity when Dylan Giberson was put in the box for slashing. Felix Page picked up the assist. Hodgson's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Nepean with 8:11 left in the first period. Page provided the assist. In addition, Nepean received assists from Tanner Williams, Brandon Watt, and Christopher Smith, who each chipped in one. The 73s forced Nepean goalie Brett Magnus to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. More assists for Kemptville came via Dean Galasso, Jesse Blais, and Brandon Cole, who contributed one a piece. The Raiders' Magnus stopped 37 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Nepean incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Matt Couvrette rejected 22 shots on goal for Kemptville. The 73s incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
