Robert Hartley Sports Complex1    Fri, Nov 15, 2013

Mark Golberg was all over the ice for the Cumberland Grads, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Cumberland's 4-1 win over the Hawkesbury Hawks.

Golberg found the back of the net on the power play 16:40 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Cumberland and again while 3:50 into the second to make the score 3-1 Cumberland.

Hawkesbury was stymied by the Grads netminder Reilly Turner, who stopped 33 shots during the victory. The solid play of Turner will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.34.

The Hawks' power play was ineffective against Cumberland's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Grads excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Cumberland's offense rang up 40 shots on Hawkesbury's net. The Grads' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

David Bennett also scored for Cumberland. In addition, Cumberland received assists from Travis Douglas, who had two and Bobby Williams, Cody Kyle, and Matthew Dupont, who each chipped in one.

The Hawks' offense rang up 34 shots on Cumberland's net.

Hawkesbury was led by CJ Stubbs, who scored the team's only goal. Stubbs scored 3:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hawkesbury. Jonathan Cyr picked up the assist.
