Carleton Place squeaks by Brockville, 3-2

The game between the Carleton Place Canadians and the Brockville Braves was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Carleton Place emerged with a 3-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Evan Peterson's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Canadians pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 19 penalty minutes.

Carleton Place was led by Peterson, who had one goal. Peterson scored 19:34 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Carleton Place. Adam Lloyd provided the assist.

The Canadians put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Brockville to score on any of its seven power plays. The Braves were unable to stop Carleton Place from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadians eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Carleton Place also got points from Luke Edwards, who also registered one goal and one assist. Stephen Bayliss also scored for Carleton Place. More assists for Carleton Place came via Jim Roll, Stephen Cooney, Andy Sturtz, and Vinny Post, who contributed one a piece.

Brockville was led by Nathan Todd, who racked up two goals. Todd scored the first of his two goals at 5:58 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Todd's next tally made the score 2-2 with 7:33 left in the second period. Ryan Cusin picked up the assist. In addition, Brockville received assists from Jonathan Power, who had one.

Carleton Place's Guillaume Therien stopped 19 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Canadians registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For Carleton Place, Bayliss was ejected from the game. Andrew Pikul rejected 31 shots on goal for the Braves. Brockville ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. The Braves ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Hayden Hulton was ejected from the game.
