Kemptville wins tough contest against Nepean, 5-3Nepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Wed, Nov 13, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kemptville 73s and the Nepean Raiders were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Kemptville made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Erik Brown at 18:08 of the second period. Brown was all over the ice for the 73s, as he had two goals in the win. Kemptville forced Nepean goalie Brett Magnus to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. Aaron Hickie also scored for Kemptville. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Alex Row, who had two and Jake Gaudet, David Higgs, Zach Poirier, Olivier Chabot, C Quinn, Matt Tugnutt, and Brandon Cole, who each chipped in one. The Raiders were led by Keenan Hodgson, who racked up one goal and two assists. Hodgson scored 3:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean. Christopher Smith assisted on the tally. Nepean also got points from Michael Vered, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Nepean also got a goal from Felix Page as well. More assists for Nepean came via Tanner Williams and Mitchell Herlihey, who contributed one a piece. The 73s' Jacob Tugnutt stopped 26 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Kemptville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Magnus rejected 39 shots on goal for Nepean. The Raiders incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
