The Ottawa Senators' Andrew Rossy scored 4:59 into overtime to beat the Nepean Raiders, 7-6 (OT). Ottawa managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Senators finished below its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Nepean was unable to stop Ottawa from sending pucks towards the net, and the Senators eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. Ottawa bested its season scoring average. The Senators have scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of Ottawa were also effective in the Raiders' zone, and came away with two goals. Ottawa also got points from Ryan Collins, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Joe Shecter, who also registered one goal and one assist. Ottawa also got a goal from Robert Michel as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Michael Evelyn, who had one, Shawn Lynch, who had three, and Joey Champigny and Deric Boudreau, who each chipped in two. Nepean surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Raiders average 3.8 goals per contest. Nepean was led by Philippe Gadoury, who finished with three goals. Nepean additionally got points from Felix Page, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Michael Vered, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Josh Zizek also scored for Nepean. In addition, Nepean received assists from Michael Constantine, Christopher Smith, Mitchell Herlihey, and Jake Roeper, who contributed one a piece. Alexandre Savard-Belanger took the win and made 13 saves before being replaced by Ian Andriano who made eight saves. The Senators registered one goal on three power play opportunities. The Raiders' Ryan Mulder stopped 36 shots out of the 43 that he faced. Nepean incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
