Dylan Giberson netted a hat trick to lead the Kemptville 73s over the Hawkesbury Hawks, 6-2. Giberson's first goal came 10:53 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:04 into the second and at 5:50 into the third.Hawkesbury's power play was ineffective against Kemptville's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 7:30 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The 73s made the Hawks' goalies to work without much rest, taking 46 shots and forcing 40 saves. Cory Simic made 21 stops and Matthew Jenkins made 19. Kemptville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The 73s' goal total was higher than their season average. Kemptville has scored at the pace of 3.0 goals per game during the current campaign. The 73s could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 27 minutes in penalties during the game. Kemptville additionally got points from Jesse Blais, who also grabbed one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Kemptville also got a goal from Jonathon Masters as well. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Ben St Marseille, who had two and Matt Martin, Cody Hendsbee, Brandon Cole, and Jacob Lucier, who contributed one a piece. Hawkesbury forced Kemptville goalie Lucier to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Yanik Laliberte also scored for Hawkesbury. More assists for Hawkesbury came via Zach Car, Francis Landers, Michael Guerrera, and Francois Lemelin, who each chipped in one. Jacob Lucier made 32 saves for the 73s on 34 shots. Kemptville registered one goal on five power play opportunities. The 73s ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and St Marseille was ejected from the game. The Hawks ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major. For Hawkesbury, Mathieu Galipeau was ejected from the game.
